Madden NFL Football 2004 is ready to be played… go on, get it, we’ll wait…

Today is a good day to be a sports videogame fan, as Madden NFL 2004 is released to retail. Now in its 14th season, this game has pretty much become the industry standard, and is the first videogame in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

New features in Madden NFL 2004 include Playmaker Control (letting players adjust on the fly just as NFL players do), a deeper Franchise Mode, and a new Owner Mode (want to set concession prices?) on top of the standard improvements to the gameplay that one would expect. The Game Boy Advance version connects to the GameCube to unlock hidden features.

Perhaps the biggest news though is the online play. Still only available on the PS2, Madden NFL 2004 now has more online features, including EA SPORTS Talk (chatting via USB headset) and online tournaments.
