FROM THE PRESS RELEASE
TuneCore.com has opened the floodgates to help any band get their music into MTV Games’ and Harmonix best selling and critically acclaimed music video game, Rock Band. Any existing or new TuneCore artist will be able to deliver a song into the soon-to-be-launched Rock Band Network online store for video game play. As always, TuneCore will take no back-end profits from the sale of the music.
For a flat fee of $999, TuneCore will take on all aspects of the Rock Band Network submission process on behalf of the artist, including stem management, note-charting and final submission to the Rock Band Network store. TuneCore will mix audio into gameplay stems (individual tracks for guitar, drums, vocals, bass), author the musical notation of each instrument, transcribe song lyrics, and even add lighting, camera and animation cues synched up with the song for the ultimate Rock Band experience!
Delivery to Rock Band is only the latest addition to TuneCore’s unparalleled arsenal of opportunities for musicians, making it the one-stop shop for artists looking to distribute their music across as many platforms as possible. As always, TuneCore never takes any of an artist’s rights or revenue from sales.
In addition, TuneCore will randomly choose one band per month to deliver a song to Rock Band for free. Right now, it is working to encode music by the Minneapolis, MN band Jamestown Story, which has had over 10.7 million streams on MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/jamestownstory
