FROM THE PRESS RELEASE

Nexon America (www.nexon.net), a world leader in free MMO games, today announced its free-to-play first-person-shooter title Combat Arms surpassed two million users. This achievement comes just three months after hitting the one million user landmark. Since its highly successful commercial launch in October 2008, the game has quickly gained popularity among users for its intense, frontline, player-versus-player gameplay and exciting customization and community features.

Combat Arms is available free for download at http://combatarms.nexon.net, where gamers can also learn about upcoming in-game events Nexon America will be hosting to celebrate the two million mark.

R20;Combat Arms really hits the mark with core FPS veterans playing alongside casual gamers,” said Min Kim, vice president of marketing for Nexon. “This latest milestone is further evidence North American gamers want to play high quality, free-to-play games.”

Combat ArmsR12;which features personalized characters, various combat modes, maps, and weapons—has undergone extensive updates since reaching the one million user mark. In addition to launching new dynamic game maps including Rattlesnake, Sand Hog and Waverider, Combat Arms has also unveiled new game modes, offering gamers even more free game play options.

The Black Market, Combat Arms’ in-game item shop, has also witnessed tremendous success with players who opt to customize their characters for an enhanced gameplay experience. Popular items sold in the Black Market include the Elite Moderator item, which allows players to host their own fully moderated games; and mercenaries, alternative characters that users can play in place of their standard base characters. And, of course, the custom guns sold in the Black Market, including gold-plated assault rifles, allow gamers to coat their skill with their style.

“With a host of interactive features and modes set in a completely free-to-play environment, Combat Arms is truly a leader in the online first-person-shooter genre and offers a one-of-a-kind gaming experience,” said Herb Yang, managing producer of Combat Arms. “As we celebrate, we are also looking forward to further shaping Combat Arms into a title that sets the tone for a whole generation of online FPS titles.”

Since the successful launch of MapleStory in North America, Nexon has been assembling a portfolio of high quality multiplayer online games that appeal to both casual and hardcore gamers. The company is championing the microtransaction-based online model in North America with its prepaid game cards being one of the top selling cards in major retail outlets including 7-Eleven and Target.
