Nintendo has officially announced the release dates for three big titles due out early next year. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles for the GameCube and Metroid: Zero Mission for the GBA have a release date of Feb. 9, and Pokemon Colosseum is due out on March 22.

Nintendo has also cleared up some of the details on these titles. Metroid: Zero Mission, previously rumored to be a remake of the first game in the series, actually starts right where the original Metroid for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) left off. The game is based loosely on the original NES maps, and will include all of the weapons and environments of the original, although it will also add new enhancements and delver deeper into aspects of the story that haven’t been told.

Nintendo is also making it easier for those skeptical of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles’ requirement of GBA-connectivity during multiplayer games by offering link cables to those that pre-order the game. Nintendo also hints that Pokemon Colosseum will have a pre-sell program that fans of the series will want to look out for, although the details haven’t been announced just yet.

In any case, it looks like Nintendo fans will have a lot to look forward to next year, so don’t spend all your Christmas money just yet!
