When a Chinese student returns to Shanghai to find that his mentor has been murdered and his school has been overtaken by Japanese forces, he has no choice but to take justice into his own hands to restore their honor. FIST OF LEGEND debuts as a two-disc Ultimate Edition DVD on September 9 from The Weinstein Company and Genius Products under their celebrated Dragon Dynasty label. Inspired by a true story, FIST OF LEGEND stars renowned martial arts action phenomenon Jet Li (Forbidden Kingdom, The Mummy 3) in what is generally regarded as his best work ever. The film is loosely based on the Bruce Lee martial arts classic The Chinese Connection (aka Fists of Fury) and its legendary final showdown is ranked as the #5 Best Fight Scene Ever by film website Rotten Tomatoes. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Gordon Chan (The Medallion) with action direction from Yuen Woo-Ping (The Matrix and Kill Bill franchises), the FIST OF LEGEND two-disc set includes extensive behind-the-scenes bonus features (see next page for details) and will be available on DVD for the suggested retail price of $24.95.
Synopsis:
Chen Zhen (Li) returns home to learn that his childhood school has been overtaken by Japanese fighters and that they have killed his beloved master. Zhen goes on a quest to bring the killers to justice in an effort to restore honor to his mentor and school.
