Do you like to laugh? If so, you might want to consider taking a look at some of the latest offerings from Britain. Of course no discussion of British comedy would be complete without at least mentioning Monty Python’s Flying Circus. Now we get an examination of the pre-genesis of the comedy troupe as well as its foray into the hearts of Americans.

The Other British Invasion

Next up is one of the funniest and short lived series – Fawlty Towers. Monty Python alum John Cleese created one of the most memorable characters of his career. Now the series is collected again in a new DVD set that really does justice to the people involved and the fans.

Fawlty Towers: The Complete Collection Remastered

Then we come to a series that I missed over the last 20 years, despite many recommendations. Blackadder is a showcase for a number of people, but most of all it is Rowan Atkinson’s show. A spoof of both the character and his ambitions but also British history. With this new release I was very glad to finally catch this series.

Blackadder: Remastered The Ultimate Edition

Lastly, we get the return of Red Dwarf, a series that took the notion of science fiction and brought it successfully into the format of a half hour comedy. This long awaited (10 years) return is, unfortunately, a too little and too late.
